For some patients there are times when utilizing their own biological eggs may not be an option. Often this is due to lower ovarian reserve or diminished egg quality. Reproductive Associates of Delaware (RAD) understands the many challenges and costs associated with traditional egg donation services. That is why we are proud to partner with My Egg Bank, North America (MEB-NA) to provide frozen donor egg services that are more economical, convenient, and efficient than fresh donor egg programs. MEB-NA’s rapid egg freezing and egg warming technology, also used at RAD, produces successful pregnancy outcomes equal to or greater than traditional fresh egg donation, and at a greatly reduced cost. RAD is one of very few centers in the Mid-Atlantic region to offer this unique treatment option.
Based on the success and published results from its own in-house donor egg bank, the well-respected Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA) in Atlanta established My Egg Bank, North America in 2010. MEB-NA is a network of high quality IVF centers that provide frozen donor egg bank services to patients across the United States and Canada. RBA’s multiple partnerships and affiliations with other IVF centers have led to the first multi-center network in the U.S.

MEB-NA prides itself on utilizing donors with diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, between the ages of 21 and 30. Donors undergo thorough medical, genetic and psychological testing to ensure excellent general and reproductive health, a clear genetic history, and emotional stability. Donor evaluations include a consultation with a certified genetic counselor, during which extensive personal and family backgrounds are reviewed. Donors with advanced education are recruited.
High Success Rates
Success rates of frozen eggs are equal to or greater than successful outcomes of fresh egg donation.
PreciousEggsTM is 50-70% less costly than fresh egg donation. Unlike traditional fresh egg donation, recipient patients are not responsible for covering the high costs of treatment, compensation, medications, and travel for a fresh donor.
Immediate Start of Treatment
With PreciousEggsTM there is no need to
synchronize recipient and donor menstrual cycles. Patients also do not have to wait 6 to 12 months (or longer) to find a donor match, allowing them to begin treatment immediately.
Increased Donor Choice
Our patients have the ability to choose the donor they prefer through MEB-NA’s extensive database. This online, frequently updated database provides detailed information on all potential donors and frozen eggs currently available.
The PreciousEggsTM Guarantee
With frozen egg donation, our patients are
guaranteed to receive a set number of eggs. With fresh donation, we cannot rely on the number of eggs a donor will produce, and fresh donor cycles can often be canceled due to poor or excessive response.
Patients participating in the PreciousEggsTM program will work directly with RAD IVF coordinators throughout the entire process. This includes helping our patients with the MEB-NA donor selection process, and facilitating the medical and lab procedures at RAD. On average, 2 to 3 months are required.
Overview of Costs
Our Patient Services team is dedicated to explaining the fees associated with RAD’s PreciousEggsTM Program.
The fees associated with PreciousEggsTM include those paid directly to MEB-NA for egg purchase and to RAD for all laboratory and medical services. Only the relatively low cost of medications and egg shipping are exluded.
This includes the selection of 6 frozen eggs. Patients may purchase an additional set of 6 eggs for an additional $10,000.
RAD Introductory Fee:……………………….$6,900
Total Introductory Cost:……………………$16,900
*Fees are subject to change
Patients also receive free financial consultations with our experienced coordinators, who specialize in removing financial barriers through affordability options and programs.
RAD Success Rates
RAD has carried out both specialized egg freezing by vitrification and egg warming for over 5 years, leading to many successful pregnancies. RAD’s procedures are very similar to the vitrification techniques used by MEB-NA to preserve donor eggs and to yield high published pregnancy rates. Vitrification enhances the efficiency of egg cryopreservation and subsequent egg survival, which is why resulting pregnancy rates are equal to or greater than traditional fresh egg donation.
Below are RAD’s recent results for our patients’ eggs vitrified and warmed from January 2010 through August 2011.
Reproductive Associates of Delaware:
Egg Survival Rate Post Thaw……………………..90.4%
Cumulative Pregnancy Rate………………………70.8%
The cumulative pregnancy rate of 70.8% confirms our lab’s ability to vitrify and warm eggs leading to successful and healthy pregnancies. Based on the expertise and proven success of our lab we can now confidently provide a new frozen donor option with significant advantages for our patients.
